I’ll need it for the loose screw in my head!

I registered for my Spring 08 classes on Sunday. . . because taking 7 credit hours just wasn’t enough of a challenge for me this semester, I’ve gone and signed up for TEN (10) credit hours next semester!!

I think I’ve lost any good sense I might have had.

Actually, its still only 3 classes, and with any luck, 2 of the 3 will be “no-brainers” for me (famous last words….).  I have managed to put off taking a basic science course for 29 years (I loathe science), but don’t you know, they wont give me a bachelor’s degree without the silly thing, so I’m taking Introduction to Physical Science (With a lab!  Online. Figure that one out!).  Somehow or another I also have to take several “general” electives, as in, non-major [law] related.  (boo!)  So I signed up for Introduction to Criminal Justice.  It sounds like fun, and anything that is an “intro” to anything just cannot be that hard.  Those two, coupled with Ethics Law should be enough to keep me busy and out of trouble.

I know, I know, I’m a glutton for punishment.

I love school!

One tradition my friend Pam and I have is that once a year we leave the husbands and kids behind and spend the day in Ocean City by our selves.  Its our “Girls Day Out”.  We try hard to make it in the summer so we can slumber in the sun and do nothing more than soak up rays of sunshine, eat, drink and chat for the entire day

Unfortunately, we dont always get that kind of opportunity.  Life sometimes takes over, and, well, we improvise.

This year we weren’t able to get away until last weekend.  Of course, it was chilly, so there was no basking in the sun.  We did, however, go to our favorite haunt, Seacrets, on the beach in Ocean City, had an awesome dinner (and daggone if i didn’t leave the leftovers, packaged for home, on the table!), a few good drinks, and chatted around the tunes of a live reggae band.

Pam and I have known each other since we were “kids”, before husbands, before kids, and frankly, before being grownups!  Even though she just lives 2 hours away, it might as well be across the country.  Try as we might, a couple times a year is the best we can do.

Remember my post about the $54 million pants, and the DC Administrative Judge that was suing a local dry cleaners for losing his pants?  He’s BACK.  The cleaners rightfully won their suit, but as anticipated, Pearson has appealed the ruling.  He didn’t even lose his job as a judge.  You would think he would - he’s made a mockery of the court system and he looks the ulimate fool, but alas, he’s still there.  Its sickening.

He’s the reason lawyers get a bad name.  He’s an  embarrassment to the profession and his family and should be ashamed of himself.

My Brother-in-Law Warren and I went to the final O’s game of the season on  Sunday!  We are both real baseball fans, so its a lot of fun when we go together :)  True even when our favorite team doesn’t always win…

For some unfathomable reason, the O’s decided to field their 3rd (or maybe 4th) string players for this final game; I mean, they aren’t in the play-offs, they’ve had a basically horrible season. . .  why not?  I think I only recognized 2 or 3 names on the active roster (and I know the team!) Well, how about because I came there to see a real game!!!  I have to admit I really wanted to see Nick Markakis play.  He’s had a hot bat all summer long.  I’ve got the O’s news link on my iGoogle. . .  and he was on it almost after every game day… home runs, rbi’s, you name it!  He broke the O’s league rookie home run record, too!  Not to mention, I saw him play several times when he played for the O’s minor league team the  Delmarva Shorebirds.  Anyway….

Even if I didnt get to see Markakis bring in a win for the O’s, it was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day, and Warren and I really enjoyed the game!
