I don’t know about you, but I need a weekend to recover from my weekend!

After taking care of some contractor required issues at home, we headed off to Salisbury for Justin’s very first on-my-own BBQ!  He was a pretty good cook!  Obviously takes after his dad 

From Justin’s we hit the road and headed north for the PA Tuttle’s.  We spent the night and got to spend a good portion of the day Monday visiting. . .which is always fun.  Megan & Adam put out quite a spread and many things were brought by friends and family attending.  “The Other Adam” brought some marinated shrimp that was awesome. . .  and Sue, OMG, Sue. . . brought this to die for dessert. . .  strawberries, brownies, and coolwhip mixed with white-chocolate pudding, if I remember right. . . . YUM!  Of course, the standard hamburgers, hotdogs etc were top shelf, too. :)  I was stuffed to the gills by the time we headed home!

BTW-  Jared brought Katie to the PA gathering. . . so look quick!  Its one of the RARE times you will see him in a picture not making a face, plus you get the bonus of meeting  Katie!

We started major renovations to our master bedroom last week.  We took about 7 feet off the “end” off our bedroom and made it into a walk-in closet.  The closet is done.  You can check out the pictures.  I’ll post more when we have the room clean and the furniture where it belongs

The bathroom was started on Monday.  Here are the beginning pictures.

I’ll update this again later in the week.  Bill is moving really fast tho!  I think this was supposed to take 2 weeks, and I’m not sure it will.  Except that we have a tile floor going in.  Maybe that will take up time.  So far he’s moving pretty darn fast!  Its going to look terrific!

So. Totally. Exciting!

Semester 2 is done.  Considering I how much I struggled this semester, I should be happy that I ended the semester with 2 B’s and an A. 

That’s 19 credit hours down, 51 to go.

For Mother’s Day, Saturday Dennis took me to see my most favorite country rock star, Kenny Chesney!  Actually, it was one of Kenny’s famous “stadium tour” shows, with several other acts.  We saw Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes, Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn and of course, Kenny Chesney.  I really enjoyed all of the acts. 

Even tho it rained all day Thursday and Friday and was supposed to rain on Saturday, the skies dried up and not one raindrop fell for the entire concert!  It was even a little warmer than expected during the middle of the day

We arrived around 2 pm and left at about 11:30 pm.  A very long day full of terrific music! 

Kenny Chesney didn’t show any signs of his recently very injured foot as he rocked the house with his high energy show.  It was a great show!  Check out the pictures!

(I’ve always told her, if I wasn’t at least a day late, it wouldn’t be from me. . .  well, here I am, a day late.  In my own defense, I did call her yesterday!!)

Paula, you know you are one of my very best friends.  How we got here, well, that is something else.  It took a lot of courage and determination, and I’m glad you had the foresight that a 16 year old girl did not. 

Just a hair short of 30 years ago, you married my Dad and his 6 *kids*.  Tho I was the only one living at home, we all know you dont marry just the person, you marry the family.  And what a family we are!

I can only say THANK YOU.  Thank you.  Thank you for loving and taking care of my Dad, for making him so happy and for accepting all of *us kids* unconditionally (especially the bratty 16 year old); for putting up with and sticking it out on all the ups and downs that go along with blending families. 

Thank you for not giving up on me, and knowing that one day we would be friends.

I am truly one of the luckiest people in this world.  Not only do I have a Dad that is totally awesome, but out of tragedy bloomed hope and happiness for the future when I got you as another mom and a wonderful friend.

Thank you, my friend.  I love you!

 

Its been a rough day.  Yesterday Chance, our 9 1/2 year old yellow lab was sick-as-a-dog (no pun intended).  Basically, by the end of the day, she was completely lethargic and didnt move.  We couldn’t even coerce or cajole her into a tail wagging.

She saw the vet first thing this morning, and after a battery of tests that showed nothing good, and with our faithful friend in a lot of pain, we decided it was time to let her go.

Chance arrived at our home, by chance (pun intended).  (Guess how she got her name?) Someone abandoned her at Adam’s friend’s house as a very young pup, about 4 or 5 weeks old.  To keep her from heading to the Humane Society, she joined our family.  We were looking for a playmate for our golden retriever Pepsi at the time, so it seemed kind of kismet.

We hope Chance had a good life and can be pain free and be at peace now.  She can now join Pepsi on the never ending fields chasing butterflies.
